One thing was clear, we needed to breathe an added value, purpose, and life into Glitterary. A dress and heels is nice, but we needed to start engaging in real conversations, we needed to approach both the site & life on purpose…

Can we be brutally honest for a minute?… Blogging is weird AF. For starters I feel lucky if you’re even here today. Believe it or not, blogging wasn't the plan, and about 70% of my real-life interactions are spent trying to keep this baby a secret. Don’t get me wrong, I’m crazy proud of this site, but at times it can feel narcissistic, & to this day (despite having lots of practice) I cringe at the thought of posing for the camera.

It’s been a while since this site went on hold. When we paused, Glitterary was at it's peak with a rapidly growing audience and increased brand interest, but despite the business potential, the timing was right– I was burnt out & struggling to motivate myself to develop new content. Dressing up was fun, but Glitterary was quickly turning into a full-time job, and if dressing up was as far as our message went, not only was I exhausted, but it all felt empty. As much as I wanted Glitterary to be a brand of it’s own, my work was too much a part of my life, and my life the inspiration for my work. I couldn’t separate the two, and constantly struggled with how much of myself to include or keep private.

One thing was clear, we needed to breathe an added value, purpose, and life into Glitterary. A dress and heels is nice, but we needed to start engaging in real conversations, we needed to approach both the site & life on purpose.

So there I was, taking a break. Catching a breath. And waiting for my perfectionistic self to reset and reinvision what this site should be. I wanted to set a higher standard for myself, and create better content for you! I knew I wanted to continue what we’d started, but I wanted to take the time to do it right!

So, what can you expect? For starters, a whole lot of imperfect, but I promise just enough put-together-ness to keep you inspired! A lot’s happened in the in between, for starters, we've moved across the country twice, lived in three different states, and bought an Airstream (more on that later). I'm also happy to say that I can now more confidently offer you fitness tips, not as an enthusiast, but as your very own Personal Trainer! If that’s not for you, don’t worry it won’t all be fitness, but it’ll be here if & when you want it. As for the recipes and DIY's, well… I’d like to think I know what I’m doing, but if nothing less, hopefully you’ll find some pin-worthy meals and life-hacks to tuck away! Oh, and the travel– Guys, I can’t wait to share our trips with you, I’ll tell you right now, I’d move to Australia in a heartbeat, just you wait and see!

We’ve all done some growing up, and I’d like to think we’ve become more of the people we’re meant to be. So join me in celebrating Glitterary 2.0 with one big cheers to tackling both life & style on purpose!

Cheers,
Steph
