Complexion Rescue with bareMinerals

When it comes to beauty I'd like to think I'm very practical, but really, I just like my sleep. Therefore, my morning routine must be both efficient & quick!

With these priorities in mind, last year I teamed up with bareMinerals to test their newest product bareSkin. That was nearly a year ago, and since then bareSkin is the only foundation I've worn, until now...

Meet Complexion Rescue, your winter skin's best face forward!

If you're anything like me, finding the perfect foundation is tricky, we want even glowing skin, but nothing that's cakey or masks our true selves. Complexion Rescue is a big win in that it's a major multi-tasker, providing powerful hydration with radiant coverage, making it the best BB cream, CC cream, and tinted moisturizer in one. However, my favorite part is the healthy, dewy finish, my winter skin was desperate for!

I'm no scientist, so there's more to the Complexion Rescue formula than I can explain (see video below). What I can tell you is that Complexion Rescue will lavish your skin with a hydrating formula of mineral infused water that's oil, silicone, paraben, and frangrace free. This richly hydrating gel instantly locks in moisture, without feeling heavy or clogging pores, and there is nothing better than healthy even looking skin that feels nearly naked.

Quick Tip: Complexion Rescue provides a radiant coverage that is naturally yours, but if you're looking for full coverage, Complexion Rescue alone may not do the trick. Personally, I have been using Complexion Rescue for two weeks, and can see a true difference in my skin's hydration and brightness. When seeking full coverage, I complete my look by adding ONE drop of bareSkin.

Peace Out 2014 / Hello 2015

In light of the last day of 2014, I thought it appropriate to take a moment to look back before moving forward.

Those of you who read, pin, and share the content of this site have made this year truly memorable, and while I could never thank you enough for the support, you can bet I'll keep trying in 2015 :)

Now, with the slimmest hope of not sounding too cheesy in the tid-bits to come, I wish you a safe and festive New Year's Eve, and only the best in 2015... Cheers!

#HowDoYouHoliday - Day 3

Dress | Necklace - similar | Shoes | Bracelets | Lipstick | Rings

"I don't want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need I don't care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is you..."
All I Want For Christmas is You - Mariah Carey

Tis the season, and what's a holiday playlist without Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas is You"?... While I'm all about the classic, this album is golden, and the ultimate party mix! Pair this festive tune to a little red dress and it's perfect combination for dancing, toasting, and even kissing under the mistletoe!

While simple, this tartan dress from Vineyard Vines makes a bold statement, so personally, I recommend keeping accessories light, though you're welcome to go big on the shoes ;)

I'm not one to wear red often, but evidence proves it's flirty little numbers like these that serve as my go-tos during the holiday season (last year here). Wether partying with your girls or meeting the boyfriends parents, this is a charming combination of classic meets mdoern that's sure to impress.

What can I say? In December I bank on Christmas music, sequins, and festive red dresses!

Hope you had fun this week and found a little bit of holiday inspo along the way. Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday season!

"Chestnuts roasting on an open fireJack Frost nipping at your noseYuletide carols being sung by a choirAnd folks dressed up like Eskimos
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoeHelp to make the season brightTiny tots with their eyes all aglowWill find it hard to sleep tonight..."
Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song

This holiday season looks a little different, and I mean that quite literally. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the  crunchy leaves and 70 degree days in December– that's both awesome and ridiculous. However, this is my first holiday season without snow and that's a big deal.

Growing up in Alaska, I only had one birthday without snow, and my birthday comes before Thanksgiving. To me the holidays are a cozy season by the fire with a warm drink. Christmas music is always in the background (more about that here) and the Christmas tree is always lit. Big sweaters, leggings, and boots are essentials, and fuzzy beanies feel like a December hug. It's the little things like these that make this time of year my favorite.

The hubs and I will be headed home for the holidays in just a week, and I can't tell you how excited I am to replace this backdrop with mountaintops and snow. Follow on Instagram, and I'll show you what I mean ;)

I'd love to hear how you spend your holidays! Use hashtag #HowDoYouHoliday...

xoxo

... It's beginning to look a lot like ChristmasEverywhere you goThere's a tree in the Grand HotelOne in the park as wellThe sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow
It's beginning to look a lot like ChristmasSoon the bells will startAnd the thing that will make them ringIs the Carol that you singRight within your heart...
- It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Michael Buble

Happy Monday! And what Monday couldn't be brightened by some holiday cheer?...

Music is a huge part of my life, but come December it's all-encompassing. In this family the Christmas celebrations begin the morning after Thanksgiving– no excuses! In fact, that morning typically begins with a desperate search for the local Christmas station, after which you can bet I'll be draging my husband's butt to the tree lot for the biggest set of branches we can squeeze through our front door. This girl LOVES December!

This week on Glitterary I've teamed up with Vineyard Vines to share a little bit about how I holiday, including three holiday looks tied to some of my favorite Christmas songs! Trust me, excited doesn't even begin to descibe how I feel about this combination! Vineyard Vines' holiday line is reliably a beautiful blend of classic and modern, so the styling project was a piece of cake! One quick tip: make sure to check out the men's shop. Being slightly taller, I've always loved the loose fit of their menswear & the torso and sleeve lengths are perfect!..

I'd love to hear what your family traditions are and how you like to holiday!

Stay tuned for more... xo

Let's be honest, this is not my typical outdoor wear, but the amount of nature around here is breathtaking! Also, purchased this sweater in a "Large" for that really oversized feel and love how it drapes.
